How to Convert JPG to PNG Correctly
PNG supports transparency, but converting an ordinary JPG to PNG does not magically remove its background. Conversion changes the file encoding; background removal is a separate editing operation.
Step-by-step workflow
- 1
Open JPG to PNG
Use the JPG to PNG converter and select the JPEG files you want to convert.
- 2
Add the source files
Choose supported .jpg or .jpeg files, up to the converter's current batch limit.
- 3
Convert the files
Start the conversion and wait for the output files to be prepared.
- 4
Open the PNG result
Confirm that colors and image orientation look correct before using the file.
Need a transparent background?
Use the Background Remover first. A JPG has no alpha channel, so a plain JPG-to-PNG conversion keeps the visible background pixels.
